I have found that the override button works when in diff lock in both forward and reverse. When climbing in the sand and wanting all 4 wheels pulling all the time I put it in diff lock and have replaced the stock override with an Arctic Cat on/off switch. There is no cut out at all when I have the switch turned on and it keeps from having to hold the stock one down all the time.

I have checked mine a few times since and yup, it limits the top FORWARD (2wd or 4wd) speed on mine!
Weird eh?

It's funny, cause on my 09 xtx, the override only works in reverse in 4wd and I have never hit a rev limiter in 2wd, I've had mine up to 105kph with no rev limiter kicking in! Not complaining!

Thats my plan too, I took mine out in the snow and was a little irritated when I had to steer and hold down the by pass switch.
