Triple J.....in the pic that I posted for you on the CVT filter....look at my intake.....the aluminum sheet under the tube is what they are calling a "Heat Shield". You should be able to come up with your own fab'ed idea for way less than I paid!!!!!! BUT.....if one uses a K&N filter for the intake.....ya better put the "Outer Ware" on the oiled K&N.

Yep, I figure I can make a plate. Also I noticed the intake tube looks to be the right size so if a guy got another one of them you could bring it up and around. Just need to tear the airbox off and see if it is the right size or not and proceed from there.

And there will be NO K&N filter on my machines, seen dust on my old king quad after 100 miles on my old king, like them on my truck but not the atv's and side x sides.

Partially true. At least where the factory air intake is, it mixes with cool air by turbulance under and between the bed/cab. This is one reason why on the XTZ, they double walled between the cab and box, and have the air intake prefiltered behind the drivers seat.
