Welcome to the forum! Best site by far! That seal is temperamental to install, very easy to distort. I had the same thing happen. I used a seal installer and a hammer to put one in, since then I've pressed all of mine in after the first one leaked. Also did you change the O-Ring, and inner seal? Just curious on those. Pain in the butt to do!
