Badlands Winches

Hello all, has anybody had any experiences with Badlands winches from Harbor Freight ? A friend of mine suggested them because he has used them for vehicles for years, they have a no questions asked exchange policy so I was considering a 3500 lb one. Thanks for any info in advance.

I have used a small one on the rear as a removable one in the hitch stinger .. works great to "hold the rig or drag it sideways in very unstable situations while you reset the front winch ... mine is a 2500 lb one if I remember right [it's not right here to look] but it's not one I'd use as a primary one as they are not known for their quality IMHO

name is Gary or hey you if ya forget

2009 Prowler XTZ , couple things added here and there
'83 CJ7 / SBC + whole lot added here and there
'01 Dodge / Cummins / Dually, a ton of stuff added here and there

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE NEWBIES ...
1. Bring in a good load of firewood for the pit
2. start the morning coffee , strong but not burnt / boiled down , IMPORTANT start it early as many of us old farts get up early !!
3. sit a spell and swap some lies with the best of us

I don't know anything about the Badlands, but I see that Champion has some for pretty affordable. I picked up a Superwinch for somewhat affordable on Amazon, although haven't installed it yet. Don't know if they are really any better other than bigger names than the Badlands.

Thanks for the replies guys, I've researched a lot on them and it seams like the 3500 lb and above ones are pretty well liked so I think I am going to go with a 3500 lb one and get their wireless remote. I mean hey for $200 it's worth a try right ? Lol....thanks again for the input

just a lil thought ... the 4000 lb or 5000 ones are the same basic size and not much more $$$ might want to "overkill it" a bit

I bought my Superwinch Terra 35 for around $185 off of Amazon. I'm guessing a little better than the Badlands.
