No spark 2010 xtx 700

I've got a 2010 xtx 700 efi machine that I just replaced the battery on. After getting everything put back together from installing new battery it started and ran for about 30 seconds to at most a min and shut down. Motor turns over no problem and battery is fully charged. Machine is showing no fire with test plug or through brand new plug. I've tried 3 different new plugs 2 being NGK and 1 being a Autolite. Not for sure Autolite was correct plug but since I was only testing for fire and not actually installing it I didn't think it would be an issue. Machine sat for approx. a month from the time battery went bad to when I installed new one. Any ideas that I could try before I order a new coil would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site! Check to see if you have voltage to the coil, check the connections to the ecu, Any Codes Showing? This is handy!

For anyone curious on how to read the error codes on the 700 XTX:
1) Make sure the ignition switch is OFF, then remove the seats.
2) Locate the diagnostic plug next to the PDM; then remove the black rubber cap.
3) Connect the Test Plug from TEST PLUG/ERROR CODE LIST to the Diagnostic Plug.
4) Turn the ignition to the ON position and read the error code on the LCD
-00 No fault Detected
-12 CKP (Crankshaft Positioning Sensor)*
-13 MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Sensor
-14 TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)
-15 ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) Sensor
-16 Speed Sensor
-21 IAT (Inlet Air Temperature) sensor
-23 Tilt Sensor *
-24 Ignition Coil *
-32 Fuel Injector *
-40 ISC (Idle Speed Control) Valve
-41 Fuel Pump Relay *
-60 Cooling Fan Relay
-95 Sensor Power
-96 Incorrect ECU *
-97 ECU Memory Power (constant battery power)
-99 Start/Run Not Possible
* Will initiate code 99
--------------------------------
TO CLEAR THE ERROR CODE (Ignition must be OFF)
1) With the test plug connected to the diagnostic plug AND the drive select switch in 4WD position, HOLD the reverse override switch down and turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2) After 10 seconds, release the reverse override switch and turn the ignition switch to OFF then back to ON. The display should now read AC00 (no fault detected).
3) If code has cleared, disconnect the test plug and reconnect the black rubber cap.

I would say the coil might of went bad.

Buddy has had a wheeler that went through 2 (also the 700 engine efi) coils. He was getting spark but not enough I guess was the problem.

Last week my wheeler wouldn't start (also a 700 efi). Did the same thing you mentioned turned over but would not fire. Was very frustrating so I know how you feel. Put a new plug in it and it fired right up. So I guess I got lucky.

If you get it figured out, make sure you get a battery tender because these rigs do have a draw of some kind that will drain your battery. stupid batteries arnt cheap.

I found the codes in my service manual, there have been some changes throughout the years. The diagnostic plug can be bought at most Arctic Cat dealers, or use a jumper wire (paper clip) to do the same thing.

Garage
My wife tightened up the Exhaust bolts on mine a few weeks ago as it was leaking a bit. She had taken the cover off the engine (don't know why) but when she put it back together she said it wouldn't start... I had her use the winch to load it on the trailer and took it over to a buddies shop... the spark plug cap was broke off inside the cap. Take a look at the easy stuff first.

Also pull the seat and make sure when you swapped batteries that you hooked it all back up. Double check to make sure all the plugs are together tight. I had one connector pull apart on me at my last battery replacement as well and it would not fire till I tracked down the offending connector. I don't remember which one it was off the top of my head.

Good to know about the Cap! I just replaced one, the plastic inside the boot broke! Ordered a replacement, and another for bench stock! Like the way AC designed it to screw on the wire! Great concept! Beats the hell out of spark plug wire connectors.
