Bigpine

I just bought a 2011 700 Prowler. No manuals, but a weak/dead battery! I can not see how to remove the battery. I have read several 'postings' that talk about removing screws in the driver's side rear wheel well and prying the shield back to loosen a larger nut and the battery comes out the 'back'.


1)Does the battery come out through the wheel well?
2) If so, is there a diagram of which screws/nuts to remove; or do I just remove them all?
3) Why does it look like (from the top, after I remove the seat and case cover) the battery case is molded as one piece - it does not look like the battery can possibly be removed from any direction except the top?
Any help will be greatly appreciated - I want to drive this machine!

do a search or look in FAQ area , there is a place to download manuals free with a link to it. also a current thread has the link but don't remember which one it is

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE NEWBIES ...
1. Bring in a good load of firewood for the pit
2. start the morning coffee , strong but not burnt / boiled down , IMPORTANT start it early as many of us old farts get up early !!
3. sit a spell and swap some lies with the best of us

Should get you there, just select the manual you need.
Mine comes out from the top. You need to pull everything out below the seat to get to it. Its a rotten design, but a guy here named RD, can help take care of that. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum, they do bury the batteries on these things but at least you know it's not going to fly out

Welcome! Just a couple of screws on my 650. Take your time, enjoy your prowler and in a few month time you know it inside oute. If youre curiouse.. Its an easy machine

On my 2006 all you had to do was take out the rear inner fender,mine would not come out from the top.

2015 A/C Sport,With a few add ons..........

Welcome to the forum BigPine! Great machine the 700! I've beat on mine pretty good and it keeps coming back for more! I have a 2009 XTX, and the battery does come out thru the wheel well, Later models come out thru the top under the seat base. The later models also had a slightly larger rated battery. I think the later models came with the 400CCA batteries. In the frequently asked questions section, there is a post on batteries. Ideas range from stock battery, to multiple batteries, to a full size (Group27) battery install. I run two batteries on mine, I like the redundancy on the trails!
