My Version of the RD Alternator

My project stemmed from a failed UTV Inc setup on my 2010 XTZ 1000. I did the drive line drive from the rear because there is NO ROOM in a V-Twin unless you want a new firewall. I reused the 1-Wire unit and the spacer (due to a weld for the body latch), nut certs 1/4-20 on a slotted bracket to allow for adjustment. 2 trips from NAPA to my house with 4 belts and settled on a 48" as the 47 was too small, could probably went 47-1/2". 10" drive pulley from Tractor Supply. Got a little crazy with the roto-zip in the fender well but I have an ABS sheet that I will mold over to keep the debris down. Tomorrow I head to the hardware store for a turnbuckle and a metric bolt, then down the road I go..

My computer just lost the desktop so I will reboot and re post pics..

don't see where the pivot / adjustment bracket is mounted

install looks very good , so if I read this right you had to whittle some of the bulk head by the battery box away for room .. please correct me if I'm wrong as I'd like to do this one day also.

what alternator is being used

name is Gary or hey you if ya forget

2009 Prowler XTZ , couple things added here and there
'83 CJ7 / SBC + whole lot added here and there
'01 Dodge / Cummins / Dually, a ton of stuff added here and there

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE NEWBIES ...
1. Bring in a good load of firewood for the pit
2. start the morning coffee , strong but not burnt / boiled down , IMPORTANT start it early as many of us old farts get up early !!
3. sit a spell and swap some lies with the best of us

Gary just a small engine 1- wire like RD is using, having an issue of exciting it as it has been sitting for 3+ years and it lost it's magnetism. the tension rod is not pictured as I just got it finished. The pivot is mounted under the upper frame rail where your bed latches.

I used a Denso on mine, 3 wire hook up. The one Bryan installed is a 1 wire setup. I opted for a 3 wire so I could have a idiot light when it is not charging. Just me being Anal! LOL
