Speedo & Gauges light up but don't show info?

I have a 2007 650 Prowler that I recently bought as a project. The Gauge/Instrument Cluster in the dash lights up but doesn't show any info and Speedo doesn't work. The previous owner says it quite working after he washed one day. When I replaced the dash (somebody had sat on it), I cleaned all the connections. I also disconnected the battery for several hours. I was hoping it would reset and work after that but same thing...lights up with no information when I turn the engine on.

Before I go out and buy a new $250 instrument cluster does anybody know if there is a way to test the old one to see if it is the cluster or the wiring....or is there a hard reset?

Would appreciate any help, thoughts or suggestions.....thanks

I've been reading older post about your problem and there seems to be several causes. One person said they took the cluster apart and found corrosion on the circuit board, they cleaned it with a brush and it started working. Others found a broken wire along the harness. The only way I've read to reset is pretty much what you did by disconnecting the power, one person did say they touched the cables together after they disconnected them to drain any stored power in the system.

If you haven't done it already you might try some dielectric grease on the connections.

Thanks for the response....I am going to take it out this weekend and bounce it around a little..see what happens. I will take it apart again next week....I will try greasing it up first and then go from there.....

Still trying to figure out if the cluster is bad?

Does anybody have a 2007 Prowler Wiring Diagram? Also does anybody know how to test the cluster to see if it is working.

Tried cleaning and greasing it....can't find any broken wires....I took the battery loose and let it set for several days.....still nothing.

Sorry for not responding...We headed out on vacation to Colorado to play...had a great two weeks running trails.

Using the wiring diagram, I tried to energize a couple of the pins to see if I could get any thing to happen.....everything accept light was appeared dead so spent the $250 and got the new speedo...works great except don't know actual hours.

Thanks everybody for your help
