Starter keeps running

HI all new to forum here hope to get ideas and help at times. Have a 700HDX XT after riding a while when I shut engine off the starter starts running. If I turn the key back on machine starts and starter is not running. Unhooked ground from battery to stop it. Got any ideas. Thanks

Did this appear on its own, or after work was done on the Prowler? Check the diode in the fuse box to see if it is in backwards, or bad.

That's strange because the brake pedal must be pressed to clear the interlock. Something is feeding back to the relay to power it up. Does it actually creep ahead or backwards (trans position) when the starter engages? 100% its the starter???

Fixed

Thanks for the suggestions. Replaced the starter solenoid and it solved the problem. Looks like this is and has been a problem with this part.
