Auxiliary Lights

Hey guys I want to put some more lights on the prowler. LED and HIDs are just too pricey for me I'd like to put 2 or 3 100or 150 off road light on the roll bar. Is this to much draw for stock battery and stator?

Check out the Vision X solo lights. They only draw .75 amps per light and they put out 900 lumens each. I would say that 2 of these with the Euro / medium light pattern may surprise you. They are high quality aluminum water proof Nasa type lights. I run 14 of them on my XTZ with no electrical issues. I do have a Yellow top Optima battery just in case though. These are around $119 each but you may find a deal being a forum member somewhere. I am very happy with these lights.

Vision X makes an awsome line of lights hands down some of the best out there , but on the other hand i run Checker/shucks/kragen off brand HIDS on my rig . 5 of them . they are cheap $120 FOR THE 4'' $150 FOR THE 7" . they work great and they only pull 5amp each .

the stock charging system on a AC is only 350 watts . and the car takes roughly 75 to 100 watts to run . that doesnt leave you with much . i can speak from experiance that 2 100w light on a stock battery and charging system will over draw the system . go with HID or LED the light output is SOOOOO much clearer and brighter

According to Arctic Cat the stock alternating capacity is 25 amps. Scroll down to the engine section to see this data.

amps x volts = watts

25amps x 14volts = 350 watts

they are 35 watts each , it really doesnt matter to me what i run because i run an 90 amp alternator. i like the idea of the lower amp lights because you can leave them ON around camp or where ever and not have to worry about a dead battery in minutes , you cant do that with 150w halogens .

Oh you left out the part about the 90 amp alternator! That helps things a little doesn't it. Are you running it off the motor? Is it the UTV Crap set up?

Ok so what everybody is saying, The stock charging system will not run 150w halogens. So if I don't want to upgrade the charging system I need to go with HID or LED lights. From what I've seen LED are great up close but they don't seem to shine any distance. I'll have to check out vision X or Checker/shucks/kragen off brand HIDS

2007 650 H1 Marsh Green. Stock so far except for tunage and some aluminum checker plate.
