2011 Prowler XTZ 1000 rough start

hello! i have an 11 prowler xtz 1000, having starting issue. At cold start the prowler starts and runs rough. Turn it off starts fine and runs fine and sometimes will back fire at start up. Changed plugs, old plugs looked fine. I do run 91 octane fuel most of the time, thats what we have in our gas tank up north. going to try and put some 87 octane in it (maybe its the high octane fuel?). I do have a power commander on order, don't think it will fix that issue, but i wanted some more power anyways I do have a speedwerx exhaust but this problem was happening before i installed it. only has 400 miles on it. I also seen that dynatek makes an ignition timing module, advancing the timing might help with the higher octane fuel i use. thanks in advanced.

how many hours is on your bike? I got 3 on mine and the takes about 7-8 times to get it started and keep it running. It just dies right after starting. Is this whats happening to yours? Going to drop it back off at the dealer on friday and let them fix it.

It doesn't sound as bad as yours mine is usually 2-4 times running rough and then it starts fine. Maybe cause the plugs are a little hot. Don't know about hours but it has about 400 miles on it.

run the 87 octane because the 90+ requires more heat to detonate thus being less volatile and that is why it stops engine knock, and also will flood and foul plugs on cold start.
