Ignition switch

I will be wiring up my winch tomorrow and I know I have to splice into a wire coming from the ignition switch. Is there a place over by the started solenoid to splice into it? Thanks Roger

Right by the battery you can get the power off the solenoid. Check the post power you will find a side that is hot when the key is on. I have my horn wired into that source. Make sure you have an inline fuse.

The only wire I found that is powered when the key is on is on the harness right next to the starter solenoid. It's a red wire with a yellow stripe coming off of the cdi unit. Thanks

Red/White is hot all the time and orange is keyed power. There should be an empty accessory connector in the center console with keyed power as well as in the dash.
