What all motors fit in the 650 Prowler

I've got a chance to pick up a 650 Prowler with a bad motor. Overall its average to good shape. Its gonna be about $2k. I'm just wanting to look into my options before making a decision. I know the 650 ATV engine is the same shell but is the transmission the same and what about the 700 motors? I also have a 1000 Thundercat I may part out so could fix that motor if it would work.

550,650,and 700 motors are all pretty much the same. The 1000 may be more of a challenge! I think they are put in the frame backwards from the others.

Garage
What year is the Prowler? It's going to limit your choices if it's the older carb model.

I picked it up today and its an 07. Its actually pretty good shape with soft enclosure and doors. Crank bearings are bad though. I know the crank and one way need replaced. I feel like since its down it't be best to go ahead and re nickle and get a new piston and rings. With gaskets and all thats gonna put parts right around $1000. I can probably get labor done for around $500 since motors out already. $1500 is a little more than I wanted to have in it but thats a completely fresh motor. Just have to decide if I'd rather buy one already complete and just bolt in.

Yeah I believe I could just change the etator out and be fine and even stay with the carb.
