Changing out Turf Saver!

Just got done plowing snow! Street tires gave me pretty good traction! Turf saver seems to be onloading one wheel at a time! Pretty jerky ride! I have my new axles, and rebuilt locked rear end ready to go in, so I think it is time! Going to drain the turf saver, clean it up and keep it on the shelf! Be interesting to see how much traction I gain! I'll post some pictures later!

Rebuilt gear case, and aftermarket axles. Been sitting on my parts shelf since last year! Kept thinking the turf saver would fail, but I got tired of waiting! Turf saver still seems alright, but I tried testing it, but nothing in the manual to go by! Time to try something new anyway!

My HDX came without the Turf Saver and I am very happy about that.
It does rip the turf during sharp turns, but I also can tow my neighbors Ranger out of snow banks!!

We had a 30cm dump today, lots of unprepared people still, having to push their car out.

I have driven several UTV's with the locked rear end, and really not that much difference. Like you said, tight turns on lawns will tear the hell out of them!

Tee Shirts only in the shop! Today is one of our gym days! Later today, I'm taking down all of the outside decorations, then my Prowler time will start, swapping out the rear end should only take 2-3 hours, got all of my parts and tools already laid out!

Compared the axles for the turf saver, and the locked rear. Locked rear axles are 1/8" larger on the inner spline diameter. Cir Clips use different part numbers, but after reviewing what they are used on, they should interchange. Price varies from 12.95 - Turf Saver Cir Clip, to 7.49 for other part numbers! I have new bearings for my Prowler, so I might as well change them out also! Still having fun!

I noticed on my locked rear diff, that when I took off on pavement with the front wheels turned, the rear back wheel would chirp on the pavement,my wildcat Sport don't do that, but the axles on it come out of a transaxle......

2015 A/C Sport,With a few add ons..........
