My new toy.....

Well, I still browse the forum from time to time since selling my Prowler, but haven't posted in awhile. I ended up getting a "new-to-me" RZR-4 800. I've posted pictures of what it looked like from the seller, and what it looked like the day after it arrived at my home.....

I did research on common RZR failures prior to purchasing it. So I decided to get ahead of the game and do the repairs/upgrades now while they are cheap before they fail and cause expensive problems later. So the motor, tranny, and differential are all pulled, and I'm just about done with them. After doing the bevel gears in my Prowler, doing these type of tasks don't scare me one bit anymore........ And I enjoy getting to learn the machines inside and out. Hopefully this will be a fun toy for the family when I get her all put back together....

I was primarily shopping for either the Teryx-4 or RZR-4 800 due to their physical dimensions (to fit in my toyhauler) and the lower overall prices, and was leaning towards the Teryx to be honest. Really the only reason I ended up with the RZR was a matter of price and timing. I will see if it ends up being a good machine I guess. I'm doing a lot to try and make it that way.... Still a money pit like my Prowler....

Very nice, Shane.

Please be sure to share more photos when you have it assembled and the way you want it to be. I enjoy seeing what other folks have and do, regardless of brand.

I will share a lot of photos when I have it done. I already have a pile of new parts to put back on it and cleaned up old parts..... And more to come I'm sure. I'm getting as bad as Mike and RD...

Garage
From all the recalls on the newer RZR models sounds like you're better off with the 800. I read they just issued a stop driving & selling of the turbo RZR for a fire hazard on top of the recalls already on the 900's.

Should be fun once you get it back together, they are several RZR 4-seaters running around our town.

A friend of our boy bought a Coleman 500 from Cabela's, He does not pay any attention to anything he owns! Heat shield fell off, he threw it away, and now he managed to burn it up! Cabela's said they would try to help, Coleman will not cover it, and State Farm Insurance is reluctant to replace it! Seems Heat Shields are an issue on several brands!

I bought two heat shields for this thing. Apparently there were some complaints of the bed getting hot. So I bought the heat shields to prevent that. With what I'm doing to the machine, it "should" turn out to be pretty solid. At least I hope....
