I use a handheld Lowrance GPS. Easy to use, shows my tracks in and topical features. Also have an old TomTom that is useful for direction headings (sooner or later I'll come close to a road! LOL) Both have a motorcycle mount.

I have a Garman hand held .. as above real easy to use and can be found at low $$ especially for discontinued models [and the do that often] so shop around

the discontinued ones usually are about the same as the "new models" but usually much lower priced. my "top of the line model" now about 4/5 years old does almost everything a "new Model" does and does me just fine.

ON EDIT .. check out the US Forrest Service maps also [many offered in plastic paper / weather proof] inexpensive and paper versions are many times free ... those maps are at the ranger stations for the district your in and sometimes the next district are available also. ... a big map V/S a hand held sometimes in a better "big Picture" view of the area you want to explore.

name is Gary or hey you if ya forget

2009 Prowler XTZ , couple things added here and there
'83 CJ7 / SBC + whole lot added here and there
'01 Dodge / Cummins / Dually, a ton of stuff added here and there

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE NEWBIES ...
1. Bring in a good load of firewood for the pit
2. start the morning coffee , strong but not burnt / boiled down , IMPORTANT start it early as many of us old farts get up early !!
3. sit a spell and swap some lies with the best of us

I do as Gary and RD do, also. I have trails and way points marked out on my old Garmin Nuvi 255. Since the truck and Jeep both have Nav systems, the Garmin found its way into the Prowler. Pick them up used on ebay for under 20 bucks. Several Nuvi 255's for under $20-shipped. Just search Garmin and price lowest, there is a poopload of them.

'09 650XT H1, 72" Eagle Plow, Warn 3500 Winch. Dyna CDI box, UNI filters, A/C V-bag and console, EPI lift kit, Highlifter springs, Scat ProCar suspension seats. Rick the Rockets A frame and shock bushings. 28x12X14 Raceline Bruisers on Vision rims, on all corners. Cowling heat vents. Factory heat and defrost. RD's custom alternator kit. XTZ hood scoop and front shocks. Monster shock covers, turn signals. OEM glass sport windshield, sliding rear window, and hardtop.
