Output shaft gear set shims!

Happy to report that after installing a thicker shim on the out put shaft the back lash has been greatly reduced! This was on a gearset with over 10,000 miles! The manual explained in detail on how to set up the gears!

I think he bought his first spare case and tranny the day after he bought his 2009 unit and he's been buying everything he could get his hands on since

his rig is all put together with quarter turn fasteners and velcro so he can be bare frame in about 5 minutes

All back together now! I promised mama it would not be touched again until we are safely in AZ! Once I decided that my Prowler would be the only machine I would ever have, I started rat holing parts! Some I've resold, and some I've doubled up on! Cases were purchased whenever the price was right! I have a like new 2012 case that I'll be building once we get to AZ, new bearings, transmission gears (used) Crankshaft and rod/piston (like new condition), cylinder freshly honed, and head with new valves, seals!

RD as you know I was mostly teasing with envy above , your machine is probably one of the best kept rigs around !! you'll need those spare parts once the desert rock gardens get at your rig as well as the sand washes so keep a good supply looking , tracking n buying

Never a doubt about the ribbing! If we can't prang each other often it is no fun! I tend to over buy stuff to ensure I have it when I need it. On the other side of the coin, if I don't use a part within a reasonable time frame, I sell it, or give to someone that needs it! I did the same thing with my drag/street car! Had as much in parts as I did in the car, and I never broke anything! I just really enjoy tearing the Prowler apart as much as I do riding! Mama don't understand that at all! LOL

I totally understand that statement. 25 yrs ago my dad and I were building and flying remote control airplanes as a fun little hobby and one day as we were flying his new plane around the patch, he glanced over at me and said "This is stupid!! Standing here and watching a plane we built flying around!! Why don't we build a plane we can get in, and then fly away in?" I had to agree with him and about a year later we had built our 1st homebuilt aircraft, a Piper Super Cub type high wing 2 seat bird, and I was being the test pilot. Now the funny thing is, although my dad did enjoy to go up and fly once in a while, his true love was building planes!! He started in almost immediately on a little single seat mid wing that would turn on a dime and give you 6 change. And I got to be a test pilot again!! And then I caught the bug and actually designed, built and test flew a 2 seater low wing, 120mph bird. 2 years later I got to again be a test pilot!! Then Mama stepped in and said "You've built your dreams, now it's time to build mine!!" I then built for her her dream home.....over the next 7 years!!........ actually, I've still a bit of finishing to do...... so not quite wrapped up yet!!
