2015 Prowler - Need screws for side skid plate.

hi, anyone know what size screws for the side skid plate? I stripped one and need to replace it. Arctic cat labels them as self-tapping screws. I went to the hardware store and it looked like a size 12, but that does not fit perfectly.

Not sure if all the 2015 prowlers are using the same thing. Which Prowler do you have? Most (but not all) of the hardware on the prowlers are metric. If the #12 is too loose it could be a M6 (6mm) and if a little tight it could be a M5 screw. #12 falls in at 5.334mm. And the thread pitch would most likely be a 1.0mm pitch. On my 2010 XTZ the screws are M5 x 1.0 x 16 (5mm x 1.0 thread pitch x 16mm long)

I replaced mine with self tappers. I think they were #10's. I used marine grade SS so they wouldn't get all rusted up. I've had 'em in and out probably 10 times and no problems.

Thanks, its a 2015 prowler 500 HDX. The #12 is loose, so I will try to find a an M6 or #10 as Bryan also suggested. It seems that a 10 would be really tight - Which may be correct since they are self tappers.

So looking up the part # it comes up as # 0423-849. Put that into eBay and came up with this:
"OEM Arctic Cat SCREW SELFTAP-THFT STS12-24 X 3/4 AB Z&B 0423-849".......... So looks like it is a #12.

EDIT: May have to run a tap through the hole that the screw got stripped out. Or is it all the holes that the #12 doesn't fit?

Got thinking too, make sure the #12 you are using is a 24tpi screw and not a different thread pitch. #12 comes in 24 and 28 tpi.
