Not hot starting

So my Prowler didn't start a couple of times over the weekend. Would always start cold but it's not cranking over very well. I thought it was the battery or charging system but now think it's the starter.

When running I'm at 15v. That seems high. I don't know what spec is, I'll look it up.

The battery will probably get tested today, but I hooked it to a jumper pack and still couldn't get it to crank over fast enough to start when hot. FYI: The machine is running fine.

Next question: My googling came across a post suggesting a 700 starter instead of the 1000. Anyone now about theses 1000 starters and any updates or the 700 starter "mod". Thanks

Regulator puts out around 14.75 volts at when running. Looks like your starter is toast! Have not heard about swapping a 700 starter in. Different part numbers, but what else may be different is anybody's guess~!

The 700 starter has more teeth or something. IDK didn't feel like messing with something unless this was a well known and proven mod. I just ordered the OEM one for the 1000's.

I'm surprise it worked at all with a loose magnet and a broken one.

The manual says up to 15.5v is in spec. So I quess I'm good.

I'd do the same! Replace with factory part! My starter history is replacement needed every 3 years, or so it seems!
