Rear end noises sounds like bound up sounds

I have no other prowlers to compare with and every since I bought mine I still wonder if the noises I hear from the rear end is normal or not..

About all I can say to relate the noise is it sounds like the rear end is bound up and fighting itself ..Is it normal noises because of no differential or something like that in the rear end ? I travel on gravel or dirt and no asphalt ..

Should I hear these same noises when traveling ? Hope this is clear enough to get some feed back from you all who knows yoour prowlers better than I know mine.. thx for any responces on this.. GP

It is a spool type rear end. So it should sound like it is bound up when turning. It has no spider gears or clutches in it. It is locked all the time. If you jack it up and spin one tire and try to hold the other one you will not be able to. If one is turning the othe one is turning the same speed. There is no difference in a turn. And when you turn one will make a larger diameter turn than the other so one or the other is fighting the traction. My opinion is this is a good thing. Less moving parts and you have real two wheel drive.
