1. Bring in a good load of firewood for the pit
2. start the morning coffee , strong but not burnt / boiled down , IMPORTANT start it early as many of us old farts get up early !!
3. sit a spell and swap some lies with the best of us

For a quiet muffler that will flow a ton, consider a car style muffler like a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler. I run one on my 1000 and it's pretty quiet and flows very well.

Is the Dynomax quieter than the stock muffler?

One thing to keep in mind with the car mufflers is there is no spark arrestor. If required in your area (like here in MN) you could have issues unless you fab something up.

The muffle subject is a tough one. 9 out of 10 times the factory muffler is the quietest one. I have seen a few aftermarket mufflers that slip on you factory muffler out let but I would think it would hurt your performance. Try this site out.
