Transmission help Please!!!

I have a 2010 xtz with a gen 1 engine and a transmission noise. Does the engine have to be completely disassembled? thanks everyone!

what kind of noise? what are the problems with it ? not shifting ? knocking ? if it is in the transmission ,yes the engine has to be removed and torn down and the 3 piece case split to repair .....

first thing i would do is drain the oil and remove the 4 bolt cover that the drain plug is in . stick your fingers up in there and see if you can find any pieces . that gen 1 motor has had a lot of problems breaking the thrust washers in thetransmission main shaft and causing alot of problems .

Had the engine out and removed the bottom "pan" and replaced all three bearings on the secondary drive assy. which runs through the bottom of the engine I found no debris at all in the pan, screen or otherwise. Although I still have the noise!!

well i can guess at where it is coming from all day but im not sure with out hearing it ..... have you checked youre clutches ? when the bushings in the sliding halves wear they can make noise . try jacking up your car and running it with the tires off the ground . if it makes noise under power but not on decel it maybe coming from the diff . walk around it and listen as much vibration these things have it could be something else transfering through the car . there was a thread a while back about a growling noise and it ended up being the bed tub vibrating on the frame .

Mine is in the shop as we speak (there for 2 weeks so far), I was making a whineing and grinding noise at 20+ mph and also a 1st gen H2. when I hear back from the dealer I will post up.

With the unit on stands front and rear driveshafts removed. In neutral no noise and in forward and reverse it sounds like im grinding steel ball bearings. Im positive it coming from one of the transmission cross shafts.

Talked to the dealer yesterday after 3 weeks being there and asked what the status was on my buggy and their reply was "fixed all the oil leaks with new gaskets and seals, new exhaust gaskets, new muffler, replaced e-brake cable (that melted because of hot exhaust)we are not replacing bed or cab panel we just put tape on it (melted also from exhaust) transmission noies is the nature of the beast and we will fix it when it blows up (not the answer I was expecting from the level of dealer this was) and still can not get the front end to loose 4wd." They were concerned about the 350lb springs in the rear and wanted to know what the hell I was pulling to justify those? Called AC Customer service to complain about the dealer's attitude and have not heard back yet...This is not going to end well as I am sure there is internal damage on the motor and when the warrenty goes out in 6 months it will go BANG..

I have bad gears and brgs on the cross shaft with a black grit and metal shavings in the pan and arctic cat wants to rebuild it,seems like they want to band aid it until my warranty runs out!!! I don't want to have a 2010 with 500 miles being rebuilt!
