Alternator for 700XTX?

I know there is a beefed up alternator kit for the 1000, but does anyone know if there is a a kit for the 700XTX?

I've got a bunch of electronics and lights going into mine and I know I'll need a second battery but I'd like to bump up the output to the batteries as well.

Any help is appreciated!

Have you tried doing a search of people who rewind stators? Most of them can get you some more heat out of them. Or you could always put a automotive style alternator on your drive shaft. Check here for a few pics.

OK, the automotive alternator is very interesting to me.

Any pics of how you had it setup? Did you have much trouble with it maintenance wise? Biggest question - how do you think it would do in water & mud? Where I ride it's always swampy...

It worked really well. That is a 100 amp one wire alternator. I had it set up on it's own battery that just ran extras.
I don't know about the mud and water. I would guess no. But if you could get it high enough maybe.

Huh. I like this idea, I'm just worried it would get swamped out the first time I hit some deep stuff....

No one else has upgraded the alternator on their 700? Does the stock 25 amp'er really put out enough power?

I've got an overhead stereo console, VDP 6-speaker sound bar, dual 55-watt HID headlights, a 20 inch Rigid LED Light bar and a Warn XT-40 going on. That's just the start!

I know I need to get (2) Odyssey 925 batteries, but is that little alternator really going to be able to efficiently power those up??
