Question on the XTZ 1000

Hi. My brother is looking into buying a new xtz 1000, but one of the things he doesn't like is the quick take off when you give it some throttle. I also noticed it when I test rode the xtz. Those who own one, is there a fix for that or do you get use to it?

You can get a softer spring for it or just get used to it

09 XTZ, 4" seats, 5" lowered cage, dual exhaust, HMF intake, UTV crap frame stiffeners, A/F meter, Terracross tires, RZR seats, passenger grab bar, Airdam 1-3 clutch.

Honestly you really do just get used to it after a short time. Even the wife got used to it after jsut a few rides. I can drive it very slow and crawl and never jerk.

Thanks for the quick replies. He is considering 3 side by sides...the Polaris 900, Can Am 1000 and Prowler xtz1000. I have a 2011 Prowler xtx 700 and he's going riding with me on Sunday. He's going to drive my prowler to see how he likes the Prowler and he hopes to talk with Polaris and Can Am owners and maybe even ride one there and maybe after that he can make up his mind. All 3 models have at least one thing he doesn't like. The main thing about the Prowler, besides the quick take off, that he doesn't like is the Prowler doesn't look "sporty" enough.

Well the prowler is a utility SxS first. Sport comes second for sure. The XTZ handles better than the xtx and is way faster but its still not a Sport machine. Looks are in the eyes of the beholder though. I like the looks of mine, reminds me of a Jeep. Honestly all of todays modern name brand machines are all well built and basically durable. The Polaris 900 is the best handing and fastest of the bunch but lacks in utility such as bed size , capacity and no towing and is most expensive. The Commander is a nice balance of sport and utility though and the XTZ is probably the most utility capable of the all with great towing, bed capacity, hitches in front and back, tilt bed etc but still hauls ass on trails with decent 10" suspension.

If he really is never going to use the SxS for tasks on some property , towing, hauling, plowing, yardwork or on a farm or something, then he should probably go with Canned Ham or Poolaris. I have 20 acres and use my XTZ to tow stuff, yard work and hauling then its also awesome for trails. For me the XTZ is perfect. But he needs to figure out his needs.

He already looked at the wildcat. He likes it but doesn't think it's practical for trail riding here in western Pennsylvania. A local dealer has one on the show room floor but it's not for sale. The dealer is keeping it because it's number 56 off the assembly line.
