2012 XTZ Glowing Pipe

Hello All-

I am new here. Bought an XTZ in December, added Tatou 4s tracks. Love the power of this machine.

My concern is that the entire pipe and muffler will glow red. I ride pretty fast, mostly roads.

Had a conversation with my shop guy and he is suggesting a controller to richen it up a little. My thought was to ceramic coat the pipe.

Any ideas? I think I have mixed feelings about all the computers I have read about on here.

Thanks-

I don't know about 2012s but the 2010 xtz run rich stock. Can you see it red in day time or just at night ?

This is normal. These machines create very high exhaust gas temperatures (EGT's) that cause the material your header to glow bright red. It's kind of cool to see it on my XTZ when the turbo and the header are glowing. This is why Arctic Cat designed a few exhaust heat shields in certain spots on your header and in the rear by the muffler.

2009 Prowler XTZ 1000 with a few modifications. Needs paint & powder coating.

I run the PCV and auto tune, also double wrap your pipes with header wrap.
