Welcome to the forum! I am still finding post/threads that I have not read involving "what to watch for". Just go to forums and scan down the list til you find something interestin', a lot of them are in categories relevant to the discussion. I think you will enjoy. If you have specific inquiry then place a posting with the interest or problem you are having. Good luck!

BTW, I do not know what a curtis plow is?

Welcome to the forum. Some common issues to watch out for or worry on the 650's is the old style bevel gears breaking and rear brake chatter noise. And blowing differential seals on just about all Prowlers. These are the major things I can think of off the top of my head.

Welcome to the forum! I have the same machine as you. Other than rear brake chatter I haven't really had any major inherant problems. They are good machines, just make sure you do all your maintenance and keep an eye on diff seals and engine oil. Alot of us have added oil pressure gauges just to be safe.

some of the members on here has had the driven gear which runs off the oil pump gear lose the teeth on the gear, when this happens it quits pumping oil to the top end, with a gauge you can keep your pressure checked.i have a 2006 with a gauge and no issues yet,put clutch kit in and gear still looked good.they do make a updated gear now.
