Question trans rebuild up date

got it back together today. dont know if i got the new up dated bevel gears to tight or to loose got a wineing noise in it if i got them a little tight will they wear in

I thought the Prowlers always had a little bit of a whining noise. Not sure if what you are getting is normal or not without hearing it. I heard that things would loosen and breakin some.

i know you told me if they was not shimed right they be noise i thought i had them right gues not i can stand the noise long as it will run i dont ride fast noway i wounder whitch is worse to tight or to loose

I think you want them on the tight side,but like out west said there is a whine noise.

I heard that the straight cut bevel gears will be louder than the old spiral cut gears, and I heard tighter is better as long as you aren't hitting the root bottom of the teeth. I've never driven my Prowler except with the new style bevels. So I don't know how the noise compares. It is somewhat whiny, but I guess maybe I have gotten used to it now.

A straight cut gear is gonna have more noise to it,listen to a M22 rocker crusher 4-speed.

this was my first time rebuilding one i may have miss under stood the instruction. was i supose to shim the bev gear on the output shaft to i only shimed the one on the drive threw shaft the instruction did not show shiming the output shaft from wat i could tell its got a littel grow to thanks for every ones input

Yes, you are supposed to shim both the output shaft and the through shaft. Check teeth contact pattern with some marking compound (I used some compound mixed with grease), and then check backlash with a dial indicator.

Some pictures below of examples of checking the teeth contact.
