I wired a fan override switch on my XTZ and the switch has a led so when the fan comes on automatic the led will light up. I don't have to watch the guage to make sure it comes on. I had a problem with the fan relay last year so I was watching it a lot. Now I replaed the relay it has worked perfect. It will not maintain temp without the fan. It is not a bad idea to carry a extra relay as the same relay works a lot of stuff.
