New to this Site

I'am new to this site, so I hope this is the correct place to post. Another Prowler owner suggested I come check this site out.
I have a 2010 Prowler 700XTX. Yesterday in the LCD shift mode read out it started showing an E & the shifting was terrible. The E comes on for a few seconds then disappears. I was wondering if anyone else had seen this before?

Guys, thanks for the quick replys. When E goes away it shifts a little better, but shift linkage has never been adjusted. Sometimes I have to go from nuetral to Low then back to high if I want to run in High. Reverse(R) seems to try to be the dominent on LCD makes it hard to get to Nuetral at times. WHat does it take to adjust shift linkage or is it the cable coming off linkage that needs adjusting? Or both?
Thanks alot for all the info guys.

Here is a link to some service manuals you can download to your Prowler if you don't already have one. http://www.prowlertalk.net/forums/fr...r-manuals.html

It will say in the manual, but as far as adjusting the shift linkage you are just supposed to pull off the bottom e-clip to your linkage and slide your shifter off of the linkage. Put shifter in neutral, loosen locking nut, and twist your shifter linkage until the hole in your shifter lines up even with the motor linkage shaft. Then re-install the linkage, bushing, washer, and e-clip. Shift through the gears and make sure it registers on your dash. (assuming your setup is like my 650)

I think the Prowler shifting setup kind of sucks. I don't think it is uncommon to have to shift past a gear and come back to find another one. I have to do it from time to time on mine.

1000 guy here and never had anything else so might be way off here , but make sure the cable isn't bound up [assuming there is a cable in yours] .. some of the 1000's had an issue with too much turn to fast in the cable and it would bind up.

name is Gary or hey you if ya forget

2009 Prowler XTZ , couple things added here and there
'83 CJ7 / SBC + whole lot added here and there
'01 Dodge / Cummins / Dually, a ton of stuff added here and there

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE NEWBIES ...
1. Bring in a good load of firewood for the pit
2. start the morning coffee , strong but not burnt / boiled down , IMPORTANT start it early as many of us old farts get up early !!
3. sit a spell and swap some lies with the best of us

Mine is the same way sometimes if the prowler is in a bind, that's something that I have not ever touched, except a little grease at the pivot points.
