Stater

Just returned from a ride the other night, shut off my prowler and cleaned it off. When I tried to start it all I heard was the starter solenoid clicking! Turns out the starter was locked up! New starter to arrive tomorrow. Does anybody know if there is anyone that rebuilds the starter? I was lucky as it failed in front of my garage, but out in the woods what would you do? Is there any options for starting a Prowler.

2009 700EFI XTX, , AC Winch, 2010 Dust Shield EPI Sport Utility Clutch Kit , Street Legal, Cage chopped 2 ", Aluminum Diamond Plate Trim, Relocated Factory Bladders with covers, 5 Pt. Tonneau cover. 750 Big Bore Kit, Web Cam, and Rocker Arms.

Rd,Type in ricky stater he rebuilds starters and stater's buddy of mine just had him beef up stater for his 400 EX,works great.I know for my 06 I can buy a pull start for it,It's the same one that's on a 650H1 quad they say it can be pulled but it's tough,no compression release.

I have this option on my Polaris ATV. It is very nice being able to pull start it if need be. I've had to use it a few times (fortunately only in my garage) on my Polaris.

I would like that option on my AC if possible. Do you think it would be a big deal getting it to pull start Mike? Do you know what it cost for the pull start kit?

I think the cost is a little over 100 dollars through A/C,I have read you can pull start the prowler, but it's a hard pull.IT was in a old acc catalog from A/C.

Thanks, I'll look into that. Joe I may PM you about that starter. If it is not to much of an investment I may add a starter to my tool kit! Very simple to change.

I had 2005 650 atv and it had a pull starter but it wasnt hard to pull it was easy. But if you had to pull often to start you can feel it in your fingers...

2008 800RZR-S, MCX Turbo kit and much much more..

I may have to add one. $102.56 plus shipping from arcticcatparts.com. Just one more thing to add to the purchase list.

Is there any difference between the atv and the Prowler that would make the Prowler any harder to start than the atv?

Other than the atv motor is set in a forward position making the pull start on the opposite side of your prowler, they are the same engine.

Other than tearing half your machine apart to get to the pull start and having a cage that most likely will sooner or later take on your Funny Bone it should be do-able
