New battery

Ok I have a 2009 550 prowler. Im in need of a new battery. From what I can find on here it seems the way to go is the odyssey brand battery??? What is everyone else using? Have you had good luck with what you have? I put a odyssey brand battery in my ds650 back in 2001 and I got almost 6yrs out of it. So I am leaning towards the odyssey again.

Garage
I bought a Power Sports AGM battery from O'Reilly Auto Parts two years ago and no problem so far, hope it last 6 years but I doubt it.

I have a Diehard semiGel battery,This makes my 3 battery since 2006, the factory one only lasted 1 year.I am sure the odyssey would be a good battery.

2015 A/C Sport,With a few add ons..........

I used a DEKA agm battery, it was an exact fit for my prowler, and also installed a Odyssey for a secondary battery. I'm happy with both brands.

2009 700EFI XTX, , AC Winch, 2010 Dust Shield EPI Sport Utility Clutch Kit , Street Legal, Cage chopped 2 ", Aluminum Diamond Plate Trim, Relocated Factory Bladders with covers, 5 Pt. Harness installed, Bed Tiedown System, Scat Pro-Car Seats, Secondary Battery installed, Oil Pressure, Oil/CVT Temperature, Volt Meter & Water Temp Gauges installed with Dash Plate, Bighorns, ITP Black 212 Wheels. Tonneau cover. 750 Big Bore Kit, Web Cam, and Rocker Arms.

I had Xstatic Batcap 800 in my 07 Prowler since new, fall of 2006. I just replaced it, granted I don't use it much but I haven't been using a tender either. I replaced it with another BatCap 800. It's a dry cell type they use for big sub amps in the car stereo industry. They use to be big on the side by side forum that Hunter Works had. Similar price as a Odesssy.

2007 Prowler 650, Dobek CDI, Pumper Carb., Viper 4500# winch, Summit Jeep Heater. It's got some racks, some camo, some tunes and 6 gun racks. It's my hunting rig.

Fits good just used the foam that was on top on the ends if I remember right. When I changed it last week it had a piece of 1/2" foam on each end.

How much are the Odyssey batteries?

I picked up my battery at Walmart for pretty affordable. However, I've purchased the same brand battery for my ATV and it didn't last very long before it died. So I'm worried in this situation (cheap) you get what you pay for. Anybody else just use the batteries from Walmart?

Name: Shane

-2011 Polaris RZR-4 800 (SOLD)
-1999 Polaris Sportsman 500 ATV
-2006 AC Prowler 650XT (SOLD)-- updated bevel gears, updated oil pump driven gear, 4 wheel disc brakes, line lock E-brake, Papa Slap clutch, Xentec HID's, Dynatek CDI, Warn skid plates, Intellitronix gauges, 2010 intake/cvt duct work and dust shield, RZR seats, Bestop folding windshield, full cab kit, rear cage and rear seats (4 seater)

haven't looked at Odyssey battery prices yet for our rigs .. BUT I own 3 of them now and will use another in my A/C when it's time .. GREAT BATTERIES IMHO !!! ,,, but to your question about price they are very expensive v/s other brands also IMHO much higher quality so not an apple to apple comparison

Odyssey will be several times the amp hr v/s other brand size for size and last much longer given a good charging system X several times.

like I said I have a 10+ year old one in my fifth wheel [a 2150 amp = the power of 3 in one battery] and one in my CJ7 snow plow rig do to extreme battery use when plowing. and one in my diesel pickup one 2150 amp replacing 2 ea. 750 amp ... OH forgot have a 1700 amp for my G/N trailer winch.

need to tell ya a story about the last one.. I had a battery box with the 1700 amp battery on my G/N trailer .. well the box was broken unknown to me and filled 100% with rain n snow water .. found the battery in spring [was a few years ago] sitting in green water completely under water ... an oh shit moment . took it out of the nasty water and cleand it up and found it still had 12.4 volts left in it and then trickle charger it for a week .. the battery is now well over 10 years old and still performing like it was new. Do I believe in Odyssey .. hummmm HELL YES I DO !!

name is Gary or hey you if ya forget

2009 Prowler XTZ , couple things added here and there
'83 CJ7 / SBC + whole lot added here and there
'01 Dodge / Cummins / Dually, a ton of stuff added here and there

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE NEWBIES ...
1. Bring in a good load of firewood for the pit
2. start the morning coffee , strong but not burnt / boiled down , IMPORTANT start it early as many of us old farts get up early !!
3. sit a spell and swap some lies with the best of us
