....have you cleaned air filter and oiled the filter lately? Sometimes over oiling filter might cause issues for a while.

Welcome to the forum, have you noticed any excessive valve cladder and what's your top end speed?

Yes I have cleaned the air filter- even tried a new KN element - on the straight and level will hit 40 mph - engine was replaced about 200 miles ago and has run great until recently - still believe it has to be in carb

It's for sure not getting enough air,x2 on the other thoughts air cleaner could be over oiled, what kind of air cleaner oil are you using. Welcome to the best prowler site.

Is your clutch weights stock, what size tires do you run,it should do better than 40 mph,is the engine brand new or new to you.you might want to check your electric choke,if not that I think it would be in the carb,

Yes its all stock - purchased new motor from Arctic Cat - tires are original - it will run great with the lid on the air box cracked open - yes I did check the chock - seems fine - starts right up and idles fine just bogs down going up hill - checked plug - running very rich - just don't know enough about these carbs

I put a new engine in mine and I hit the rev limiter at 48 mph easy.

If it runs better with lid off your running to rich, pull the end out of your exhaust make sure your baffle isn't all plugged up with carbon.I would say your choke is not opening all the way open,It is a electric choke I don't know any way of testing it,it works off of very little ohms.you said you already cleaned carb.
