Thumbs up New articcat's

Just come back from my local A/C dealer, spend about a hour over there checking out the new cats,as far as i'm concerned they are really nice machines,I was under them and all over it,the sales man thought I was nut's I think,I even had him get me a tape measure. The new hdx is a really nice machine they make a 500 and a 700 you have to get the 700 to get power steering, the price on the 700 HDX is around 13,000 with power steering, the only thing I didn't like was the duct work is under the bed it does have a pre-filter with a cylinder around 3/4 of it,but I think it will still get dirty very easy, knowing me I would have to snorkel it,It looks like the motor set's back about 8'' farther so you can have the bench seat/ The 700 prowlers are really nice also,I thought the tilt had a lot of slop in it.The ones without tilt had a solid feel to it,the new T-rex they had probably had the tightest steering column.they had 6 HDX'S, 7 700 prowler's, 4 4-seat wildcat's and 5 wildcat X's.they never had any xtz 1000 prowlers,I ask why and he said everyone wanted the 700's but he said he could get one and priced it to me for 14,500,and that was throwing in a 2 piece hard top.the rear drive shaft on the HDX was a short heavy duty one with u-joints,the new prowlers have a splined joint on both end's mounted in rubber it looked like.he had a guy that traded a 2012 xtz 1000 for a 2013 700 prowler, the customer said the 1000 had more power than he needed, plus his grandson's rode it.But all in all they are not a whole lot different than my 2006.I thought the Quality was great.and I really like the automotive paint........The XTZ 1000 ONLY COMES IN RED........Also the ground clearance is 10 3/4'' to the bottom of the frame tube in the rear and 12'' to the bottom of the front frame. They are advertised as 10'' ground clearance the measurement is taken from the ground to the center of the skid plate under the buggy.

2015 A/C Sport,With a few add ons..........

Who is your local dealer considering here in our parts dealers are few and far between?
And something big is coming out this year I'm saying it now. That is a serious price drop since I bought mine 5 months ago... It rather upsets me, because I know when I bought my xtz they were 16500 now they are down to 15000 and he just give you 14500. That turns to be a big savings.

My luck I knew they would do something big this year because the xtz hasn't been changed hardly at all since it's debut in 2009.

Mike, I'd Like to add that they also make a 500 hdx limited that does come with power steering

2013 Arctic Cat Xtz 1000 - Glass Windshield, Wiper Kit, Roof, Radio, Winch, V Bag, And Yutrax No Drill Rumble Seat
2007 Suzuki Sv1000s - Stock Vigor Blue Metallic
1999 Honda 300 4x4 - Wiseco Bbk, H/L Clutch Kit, Gearless Locker, Disc Brake Conversion, Lift Kit, and 18" Snorkel, Sitting on 28" Itp 589s With C Series Wheels

I told the wife if I didn't have so much money in mine I would consider the xtz for that price.I think the price on it was 15,000 and something, and he told me if I was serious he could drop down 500 dollars easy+throw in the roof which is around 2 something.

All in all, I'm glad the original design for the Prowler is still being sold! Many new parts fit the older machines, and makes updating a user preference! I still like subtle changes! I have a tilt wheel on mine, have not noticed any slop in the steering.

2009 700EFI XTX, , AC Winch, 2010 Dust Shield EPI Sport Utility Clutch Kit , Street Legal, Cage chopped 2 ", Aluminum Diamond Plate Trim, Relocated Factory Bladders with covers, 5 Pt. Harness installed, Bed Tiedown System, Scat Pro-Car Seats, Secondary Battery installed, Oil Pressure, Oil/CVT Temperature, Volt Meter & Water Temp Gauges installed with Dash Plate, Bighorns, ITP Black 212 Wheels. Tonneau cover. 750 Big Bore Kit, Web Cam, and Rocker Arms.

I originally went to big 4 to look at wildcats and was talking to them, I talked to them for several hrs. He said they didn't charge for freight and setup. And I was happy to hear that, only problem was he couldn't tell me why they was wanting 500 over the Msrp if they didn't charge freight and setup and I then left and thought to my self that was dishonest salesmanship.

And I forgot to mention they had a black sv1000 like mine on the showroom floor that was 2 years older and had almost 3 times the miles and I had seen it. And so I asked them about trading my bike in before they knew I had seen it. And he give me a low ball answer of 2500 when they was wanting 5300 for the older one on the show room floor. I was hoping for figuring 3500 and was hoping for 4 that would still allow them to profit almost 2500 dollars off my bike.

Needless to say I haven't went back.

Lakeside Motorsports in Mecosta MI. has a new 2012 XTZ going for 11,999.00, a 2013 700 XTX is 11,199.00. Both are new machines. There pricing on used machines seems to be high, not sure what kind of trade in's they offer.

they got to make something on the machine even if they don't charge you for freight and pdi

are you able to take them for a ride. If you take a wild cat out your going to want one. Everyone that drives mine says holly crap that thing rides nice.

That's some serious savings they are practically giving the xtz away and from the sounds of almost any dealer they can't even do that... Even if it's a 2012. The buggy is dang near 4 years old.
So I agree with the small changes over time to much to quick can kill a product and stick with what works. It allows for the oem parts to be more readily available when something does break.
