squeaking brakes......

How many of you prowler owners have trouble with your brakes Squeaking.............my front brakes have squeaked since new, even worse when on dusty roads or a little mud,I went to 4-wheel disc brakes and now front and rear squeak, real bad on dusty roads,I have tried 2 different types of brake pads and still no difference...I can handle a little noise but mine are really bad and embarrassing.....The only option I have left is try a set of wave rotors from evolution Motorsports,or try a set from a wildcat..........opinions please...

....have you ever tried to use any of the anti-squeak stuff in the tube from automotive parts houses? I think most of it is applied to the back of the pad next to the caliper. Seems to help for me on other vehicles. Only time I have any squeaking is from inactivity on mine. Five minutes of operation and it's gone.

I have not experienced any noise from mine yet, all stock pads on the front, aftermarket on the rear (parking brake would not hold). I bought a el cheapo set of pads off ebay, but after hearing about Mike's I think I'll upgrade the pads!

Terry its the pad surface rubbing the rotors that is making noise....I think muddogefi had the same problem on his prowler.

My '14 HDX has squeaked since the second time I used it. It stopped once or twice for a brief time but always comes back. I haven't taken anything apart yet but will have to before too long, it's driving me crazy.

I'm still on my original brakes with over 5K miles .. something to be said about that second cylinder ... anyway not having changed out a set yet [but getting very close] do our disc brakes have the spring clips on the pucks ? if they do ya might check to make sure the springs are still attached .. if they don't ya might try to see if any model had them and try to get some ... but for sure make use of the backing lube they make as the squeal is usually a harmonic between the puck and piston.

good luck in your quest.

name is Gary or hey you if ya forget

2009 Prowler XTZ , couple things added here and there

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE NEWBIES ...
1. Bring in a good load of firewood for the pit
2. start the morning coffee , strong but not burnt / boiled down , IMPORTANT start it early as many of us old farts get up early !!
3. sit a spell and swap some lies with the best of us
