Helmets

How many members wear helmets when riding your ATV OR UTV OR YOUR SNOWMOBILE,I just had a friend of mine's son lost his life on a dirt bike,he hit his head on a tree, and I seen in the last 2 months in Virginia where a guy riding a atv and a guy driving a RZR got killed both with head injury's,either one was wearing helmets....I know in some states a helmet is not required.........a helmet may not always save your life,But I know for sure it helps or race car drivers wouldn't wear them........I just picked up a new one,now I have 3, my snowmobile helmet,my new full face and an open face helmet.I have never had a problem with a helmet...been wearing them for 35 years........lol the wife hates them........

Always wore a helmet while snowmobiling, not so much on the Prowler. We do wear helmets when the trails are busy (week ends, and holidays). As soon as I get my plates, we will wear helmets on the streets. The wife and I both have full open face helmets, and they are comfortable.

I don't wear a helmet in my Prowler. Prowler is primarily driven around while hunting, and I don't wear a helmet. I always wore a helmet when I drove my sport atv Raptor 660. Completely different kind of riding.

50/50 here depending on the trails we're going on just a fun easy ride not so much , tuff challenging trail yup for sure .. they are with me just in case though , never know when ya find a cool lil side trail to try.

but remember I braced up the roll cage a bunch with front to back DOM 1 3/4" tubes , up at the top right at the curve. I didn't feel like the X brace in the center was what I wanted to protect me ... left the sides with only the 2 piece roof to keep things out and you safe in a roll ... not good enough for me

name is Gary or hey you if ya forget

2009 Prowler XTZ , couple things added here and there
'83 CJ7 / SBC + whole lot added here and there
'01 Dodge / Cummins / Dually, a ton of stuff added here and there

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE NEWBIES ...
1. Bring in a good load of firewood for the pit
2. start the morning coffee , strong but not burnt / boiled down , IMPORTANT start it early as many of us old farts get up early !!
3. sit a spell and swap some lies with the best of us

I never wore a helmet on all the quads I've ever had but I'm older and wiser these days lol. I just purchased a new helmet a few weeks ago and when trail riding and what not I wear it but during hunting and or just checking cows I don't wear it. I'm actually the "old guy" in my riding group so the younger guys look at me like I have two alien heads protruding from my shoulders when I put the helmet on, they refuse to wear a helmet and rarely snap the seat belts on.

I appreciate what a helmet will save! I dumped a bike in Florida, and I was very glad I had a helmet on! Honda Rash hurts! LOL

I was lucky last year, Arctic Cat had discontinued helmets available for 50.00 dollars. I picked up 2 Arctic Cat DOT approved open face helmets with the sun visor. Helmets are Black, and Green with AC logo! Hard to get a good helmet for under 100.00 dollars with a good Snell Rating!
