Lighting

Hi Guys,

So Montana is sending us some sucktastic weather, so I was up at 04:FFS hooking up the plow. The plow is low so the headlights aren't a big issue, although I do have some LED lights coming to install on the cage pointing front and back. One thing thats been bugging me a bit is dash lighting - does anyone have any suggestions for task lighting on the switches? I can tell which is the headlight due to the red light when they are on, but winch and diff lock are black, so it's a bit of fumbling to even find them in the dark and snow.

Has anyone found something decent for lighting up the dash on these dark and nasty mornings?

Thanks,
Craig

Cheers,
Craig

Thanks for the pointer! Home Depot has these as well. Not sure if the motion sensor is all that helpful, but might have to give one a shot - it's a bit of a PITA using braille to figure out which switch does what in the dark...

This may not be what you wanting.. But I bought one of the small marine LED interior lights from walmart. I think it was 8$ and mounted it to my engine right below the shifter and facing the dash. I wired it in with my headlights and covered the lense with dark tint. When I turn the healights on it comes on and gives a faint glow on the dash. Just a thought..

do some searching [sorry don't remember where I saw these] but you can buy rocker switches that are direct replacement size to fit our rigs that are lighted .. several colors available
green for plow yellow for winch ect ect or whatever works for ya color wise ...
might try Waytec wire co .. but IIRC there was a topic on here about these type switches.

name is Gary or hey you if ya forget
