New UTV owner

Just bought a Prowler HDX on Friday. its been cold and rainy here in NW Montana so i installed a windshield and top and will probably get a back panel.
I got this for my wife?? She was getting to the point that she did not like going in the mountains in the pickup for fear of going over the edge. hoping the narrow wheel base will put her at ease.

I'm looking forward to getting advise on use and maintenance issues as I use the machine.

welcome to the house .. great info and advice here.

fill in your signature line and location so later when you do have a question we won't have to ask a question to answer your question.

some advise .. when pulling a long steep grade or pushing a snow plow use low range .. you have enough power usually to do some/most in high range , but when working it hard you'll get better belt life and not fry it up by using the low range.

you up in Eureka area ? Kalispell ?? .... your near some great ride area's anywhere in the NW area for sure ..

also think about some doors to make inside life much better in foul weather ... keeps much of the wet and mud out of the rig ... wife will love ya for them.

might think about joining a local club to get ya going and learn the ride area's and some thing about about off roading in general [IF your not already trail wise / broke in LOL]

name is Gary or hey you if ya forget

2009 Prowler XTZ , couple things added here and there
'83 CJ7 / SBC + whole lot added here and there
'01 Dodge / Cummins / Dually, a ton of stuff added here and there

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE NEWBIES ...
1. Bring in a good load of firewood for the pit
2. start the morning coffee , strong but not burnt / boiled down , IMPORTANT start it early as many of us old farts get up early !!
3. sit a spell and swap some lies with the best of us

if ya get a chance .. take a run down to Wallace Id. , some great trails in that area also... several hundred miles of them .. another great area is up and down the St. Joe river valley [down by St. Maries Id.] . again several hundred miles between all the trails in the area.
