adjusting the drive belt

Anyone know how to adjust the drive belt on a Prowler 650? We just got it back from the shop and the belt seems to be slipping when you are taking off.

they did not put the clutches back on properly. when you are re-installing the clutches, you must spread the secondary open, and pull the belt up out of the base of the primary clutch to allow the primary clutch to come together all the way. if you dont, when you put the outter half of the clutch back on, it will close up on the belt and no allow the clutch to properly seat and will leave the belt loose. when you crank it up and drive it, the belt will slip untill you build enough RPMs to make the primary close up properly.

sounds like a rookie put the bike back together.

I agree with you on that comment. Also, the fixed plate on the drive pulley could get stripped, create excess heat and melt the rollers
