new guy from VA - park brake question

Hey everybody! Just bought a 08 650 with 250 miles on it. Its camo w/ cab, heat, radio & snowplow. Traded in a John Deere 650 ext four wheeler plus $4900 for it. Like the way it handles and the power. Was wondering if the newer models had a better design on the park brake lever that I could intstall on mine. I replaced the missing e-clip with a 3/16 cable clamp, but now when I push the pedal down the cable gets in a bind and won't let the ratchet catch. Just wanted to see if there was a better design out there before I fabricate a fix. Also there's a lot of motor noise. Is there a kit available to insulate the engine cover?

Thanks, and Merry Christmas !

Some are putting a line-lock from summit.
Summit Racing SUM-760000 - Summit Racing® Staging Lock Systems - Overview - SummitRacing.com

Dyno-mat the engine console and associated areas.

The insulation will help some. nothing extreme though...
I even did the fuel tank, clutch cover and some of the floor & side panels, I also wrapped the exhaust with header wrap.
