hello I just bought a 2009 prowler xtx700 and found out the rear end is bad, the splines in the diff are bad and the dealer wants 900.00 for this part is there anybody that has a used one for sale. any help would be appreciated. thanks boschak
Welcome aboard the best prowler site, great members. That model would have the turf saver.do you want to keep the turf saver or change it over to live axle.to change over to live axle you will need a 36 tooth ring gear from a 700xt and inner cv joints from the same.I would also look on ebay. The xt ring gear is around 183 dollars and you will need 2 seals,on the inner CV's depends if you just want to change them or change out your complete axles, sometimes thats cheaper.
welcome to the family theres a lot of great info here,,,many people have already done this project,,,,,hang tight and im sure you will get all the info you need!!!!!!
The 700 XTX was equipped with the turf saver rear end for only a few years (08, 09 and 10), and it was the only model that had it. Going to a locked rear end is the best for replacement. Service life on the turf saver has been anywhere from 2,500 miles to ?, seems like failure symptoms start to show up around the 2000 mile mark, and get worse until failure. How are the splines on your axles?
Welcome aboard. I welded my turfsaver and im happy with it now.
