River ride

A friend of mine came over with his teryex and we took a short ride up the river. 24 miles all together to a spot we can't get around with out some more chainsaws. Some places we had to find alternate routes on land. I was really surprized on how well these Utv's can climb. Had no trouble getting around problem areas. It was a fun day we were out for about 4 hours. Forgot to mention it's -5C here. Which is really good for this time of year.

nice thing about the snow .. only folks you see out there are snowmobiles and they tend to not go down the tight overgrown trails , they stick to the "highways" and open spaces N side hills, we get fresh snow on the tight trails.

we've had a unusally low snow year this year, after 2 in a row of 100 year snows so the snow rides are much higher elevation. I went out with my Rhino friend yesterday .. had a blast. his has the aggressive mud type tread and mine still has the stocker tires many of the main roads were iced over and climbing the steep sections I actually got much better traction than his Rhino. he was all over the place where mine tracked right up where pointed most of the time 'sept where the big rocks poked through then all bets were off LOL. of course there we're no nana nnna's at him about his weak hearted rig.
[yea I know my tires we're suited more for the ice but had to give him the razzberries ]
couple places I had to put a couple big rocks in the front to keep the front tires planted it's so steep

name is Gary or hey you if ya forget

2009 Prowler XTZ , couple things added here and there
'83 CJ7 / SBC + whole lot added here and there
'01 Dodge / Cummins / Dually, a ton of stuff added here and there

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE NEWBIES ...
1. Bring in a good load of firewood for the pit
2. start the morning coffee , strong but not burnt / boiled down , IMPORTANT start it early as many of us old farts get up early !!
3. sit a spell and swap some lies with the best of us

He's got better ground clearance. depends who was leading at the time. He can drive that thing pretty good. I not use to this big beast yet. Steering is still stiff I'm use to the gas pedal spring now. I need to put a lift on before summer. I'm not putting bigger tires on I like my mud bug r's. I've driven his teryx and find it easier to drive than the prowler. I find the teryx has a lot of engine noise in the cab. I like the variable front diff lock on the teryx. the parking brake on the teryx sucks I like my10 brake it a better system. The gear shift on the prowler is flakey. does not always lock in high (grinds) May need ajustment. Love the power of the prowler.
