Hi Bud, my 2010 XTZ 1000 prowler has very high revs 4K+ in H to move a bit and slow, reverse is not really working once the tires leave the shop and hit plowed snow. Basically the machine is not moving without very high rpms. Could this be belt or worse clutch. What do i need to look for. I ask cuz my time is very limited and I need to plow also

    Thanks a ton

Sorry for the delay on this. Sounds like you may have oil in the clutch/belt area from a leaking seal.

RD, I'm ordering a EPI clutch kit and new OEM belt. The clutch kit is a sport Utility for 28" tires. Should I order a new clutch cover gasket for it? Hope this will get my RPM's back in range. Can only rev it up to 5800 as it is now. Thanks Buddy!

Found an OEM gasket 0830-116 for $12.00 shipped. Bought it!!!

Sorry to hear your high RPM experience! To update you on my last problem, the removal of the one-way bearing was successful and vehicle running now fine. Made a few other changes to my cat. The 2nd exhaust muffler rusted out again, so I had a custom made SS exhaust built, but not yet installed. I also modified the battery "department" and now have a standard automotive battery, much bigger, which I can buy here in Mexico. Also added an additional fuel pump on an "activation switch" on the dash, to prime the carburetor or run the cat if the OEM pump fails. And while you are talking about windshields, I mounted a bullet proof Lexan windshield on mine, about 6 to 8 mm thick, with a slight tint. This material can be cut on a saw to suit. My vehicle is street legal with the SD license plate. Manfred

Glass windshields are a great find! Don't think you would recoup your investment on trade-in, but if your patient you may see it on resale. I almost gave my glass one away, and then found out I needed to be street legal!

Hey RD, I found a new, OEM glass windshield for $180, upper extension for $75, tinted rear lexan window for 140 and a hard top kit for 400. Just wondering what you think. Hoping if I bought it all, it may increase the value of mine if I trade it in on a Havoc.
Good luck on the motor pull! Sounds like fun....

    Hi, RD

Could you please delete my entire 9:27 post? I managed to make two posts about the same topi when I was actually trying to edit.

    Thank you,

RD, I left my phone in the shed. Did you get my message on the pulley hole size?

I used the factory plug under the dash for mine, it is only hot when the key is on. Prowlers have two aux. plugs, one near the ignition switch, and one near the main wiring harness (always hot).

When installing my winch, should I tap into the ignition switch or put in a separate power switch?

Saw the gauges on your dash in some pictures. How hard are they to install? What would you recommend?

I'll look that up! I should try and make one for when I'm spray painting in the garage! I usually pull everything outside when I paint. Do you ride during the winter months? I went out a few times, but took longer to clean than to ride!

Put together a New Cover for the Prowler. Brother-in-law had a storm go through his place and tore the cover off his RV Garage! So I took a bunch and put a cover together. Got a Pic, in my Album. Just need to put a few stiches in the add-on bottoms. Only takes 2-bungees to secure it(instead of 8). Ready for the Winter months now! Gary H.

What a difference in the Forum Website! Thought at first I was on a Business site! Anyway, looked at some of the prices of the windshields and WOW, will keep this one more protected. (making a New Cover!!) I do realize the tape probably removed the So-Called scratch resistance. But I can see on sunny days now!! Yeah, back again Thanks. Been a Really busy Summer!! Never made it back to Yankton this summer, except to visit friends, and Riverboat Days.

Hello Fairmont. Finally found my way back onto the forum! Forgot my password. Dugh!! Got a new one, Wrote this one Down!! Hey got a question. Have you ever gotten anything on the full sized windows having tiny fractures all through the outside? Man you can't hardly see out on a sunny day! I did though find the Answer to the problem!! Clear packaging tape! Put row after row from bottom to the top then peal it OFF! Windshield will be clear as New!!
