Clinton County Ia, legalizes riding on secondary roads.

Its almost official! The board of supervisors passed the ordinance legalizing ATV/UTV's on county and secondary roads. The drafting is happening now and we should be able to ride them very soon. Jackson county legalized it last year and its super nice! Now with both Clinton (where we live) and Jackson county being side by side, we will be able to take some super nice rides. I'll be able to ride from our house to the in-laws farm which is 18 miles away and also ride to work! Need to buy some street tires. The black tops eat the hell out of my soft knobbies. Thinking of some General AT's.
As soon as its official, I'll post the finalized details.

XTZ hood scoop and front shocks. Monster shock covers, turn signals. OEM glass sport windshield, sliding rear window, and hardtop.

your going to love it when that passes. north east north dakota is pretty relaxed on the atv utv stuff. we are able to drive around (small) towns and even in grand forks they have designated roads that can be used. you will defiantly put some miles on once they open it up!

It really opens up the pleasure of having a SXS! I have about 1,000 miles on my General AT's and they do not show any signs of wear. Only issue so far is loose sand at low speeds is a challenge to them! Yet to get stuck, but have had to use 4wd, and low at times.

I figure If I decide to go off road, I can toss my Bruisers back on. I'll buy yet another set of wheels along with the new tires. I like running the same size wheels and tires on all 4 corners. Now, I'm really thinking power steering, too. I figure another 1500.00 for rims, tires and P/S is a small price to pay for the fun we are gonna have. I'm gonna probably keep it even if we do buy a 4 seater down the road. If anyone hears of a P/S set up for sale, let me know right away...

I used the General AT2's 27X8.5X14 all around. They do measure 27" tall! We ride everywhere with them without issue. I'm thinking they will be fine for the AZ desert, only concern is the sidewalls.

That was the only disappointment with the Bighorn LT tires, they were the same size but only measured 26" tall.

Congrats! That's awesome. Unfortunately for us FIBs, Illinois is far behind on this stuff. The local town did however make it legal to ride in town (Andalusia, IL). But you have to be a resident of the Village of Andalusia and believe you're only supposed to ride them in town (not on the highway). Baby steps, I guess.
