Evolution Powersports Rip Saw brake kit

Any one in need of better brakes for their Prowler 650, 700, HDX 700, XTZ 1000 or Wildcat read this. The 650 and 700 you would only use the fronts since your cars have the single rear rotor. The HDX 700 you could use the full front and rear set since it's identical to the Prowler and Wildcat. All of these models share the same front caliper part # (R)1502730 (L)1502731. The front and rear pads part #1436420 are the same on the Prowlers but the Wildcat use a different rear pad for some reason. The Wildcat 4 went to a 2 piston front caliper and uses the larger front rotor on the rear for the extra weight and stopping power.

After reading a post on the Wildcat forum I called Evolution Powersports today and it just so happens the two owners (brothers) were in their Tempe, AZ location for a few days. I took my Prowler down there and they cross referenced the part numbers with the Wildcat and it looks like their rotors and pads will work on my turbo Prowler XTZ 1000 also. Finally some better brakes. These guys have a very impressive shop. They have been around in the auto motorsports business with high HP Porsche race cars and street cars and also have made a name for themselves in the Snow Mobile / Sled industry. They put out some impressive numbers with all of the turbo motors and NA stuff they build. I looked over some of the engine builds and race cars in their shop and everything I saw was top notch. I am very picky about my parts and quality and these guys deliver. I bought a set of the rotors and pads and plan on testing them when it cools down a little! They also build a turbo kit for the Wildcat and anyone who is in that market I highly recommend you check them out because it's one of the nicest kits I have seen. If you need better stopping power for your Wildcat or Prowler 1000 go to their website and have a look at their Rip Saw brake rotors and pad kits. If you have any question call the number listed on their website and talk to Jim or Todd they are great guys and will take the time to answer your questions. Thanks Evolution for making this kit.

This is the kit that I got. BRA-WC-2-FR-KT2

I am pretty sure that the 255mm front kit it what you would want.

You might want to call Jim at Evo and talk to him. I am the first one to get a set for a Prowler so he will probably want to do some cross referencing himself to be comfortable enough to realize that they will fit on the other Prowlers. I had some help from a friend that's a dealer when I checked out the part numbers and cross referenced everything. It can get a little confusing. These Evo brake rotors are awesome and I can't wait to get them on and test them. The guys that run them on the Wildcat love them and are impressed with the braking power you get and no more brake fading etc..

I just got off the phone with Jim from Evolution and he says he is going to make some changes to his website and it will include the part numbers for the Prowlers. He will do some sort of a drop down menu that will allow you to choose exactly how you want to buy these kits. I think the 650 and 700 use the same caliper and rotor on the single rear set up but I don't know the diameter of the rotor 205mm or 255mm? So Jim will check into this and possibly offer a single rear Rip Saw rotor with pads for you 650 and 700 guys. think these kits are going to be the quickest and most cost effective way to get better braking out of our machines stock brake system.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that they are in the process of making a conversion kit so you can change the front caliper out of the Wildcat and possibly the Prowler and drop in the Wildcat 4 which is a 2 piston caliper for even better stopping power. Man I love companies like this that are willing to build this stuff for us.

Mike

These rotors will last the life of your Prowler and you would be happy one day when a drunk guy on a lawn mower pulls out in front of you and the Rip Saw brakes stop you on time. The factory stamped rotors flat out suck.

From their website.

The OEM rotors are flimsy and stamped from .1250" (3.175mm) steel which bend and flex during braking. Our rotors are 47% thicker than the stock rotors to minimize rotor flex and premature failure. The engineered design of our rotors improves brake cooling, helps shed water, mud, sand and debris from building up between the brake pads and rotors for better stopping power in all conditions.

They are Heat treated HRPO Cadmium plated steel - the ultimate in strength, durability and stopping power
47% thicker than the stock stamped rotors
Will not warp and crack like the stock rotors
100% Made in the USA!!

Same here,I would love to see the new rotor for the rear, the only rotor I can get for the rear of mine is the junk stamped rotor, and it's around 90 dollars.
