2012 artic cat prowler 700

I replaced the stator on my 2012 700 hdx. When removing the cover the shift shaft fell out i reinstalled it with what i thought was the alignment marks one on each gear. Upon completion the bike says its in park but its in neutral. Any ideas

If you are absolutely sure you have the shaft in the right position, you probably just need to index the lever that the shifter cable is attached to. Remove the cable. Put the trans in true neutral, by moving that lever. When you are satisfied that you are in true neutral, remove that lever from the splined shaft and attach the cable. Now install the assembly on that splined shaft, at the point where the gear indicator says it is in neutral. You my have to re-adjust the cable. But if you didn't do anything with it before you removed it to install the stator, it should line up.

Not 100% sure i do have the gears lined up but there are marks on the gears one on the male sproket and one in between the other what i would call the female and they do line up only marks i could find.

Some early models had two index marks. Looked up your part number and seems to have only one. Adjust the cable and see what happens.
