Riding & camping in az mtns

Was going to take a trip this summer to Mammoth for some camping and riding, I decided to spend my money in AZ instead.
Looking for some spots that we can ride out of in the mtns with only CA tags.

thanks, papa v

What do the Ca tags entitle you to do? They should be honored here as well. I don't think that AZ would make you buy a $35 OHV tag during your vacation. Let me look it up and get back to you.

Look at page 5 in the lower right hand corner of the brochure. That will have your answer.

For some great places to ride I would head up towards Flagstaff. Depending on when you arrive we will be hot down here in the valley. Go to Riding Arizona - One Trail At A Time and download some of their gps maps and look around for any rides that may be going on during your stay here.

This Memorial Weekend we will be camping at these coordinates up at Lake Ashurst. W35 1'50" N111 26'23" you are welcome to join us(about 12 people signed up so far) for camping and trail riding.

Papa V

I ride with 2Txns (Todd) and have known him prior to the side x side world when we raced and rode sport bikes. He is an adventurer and I would trust him when it comes to advice on where to ride. The summer temps really make for a miserably hot ride some times so going up North is not a bad idea. There are some great trail maps available that highlight some of the good rides. There is Prescott AZ, Mogollon Rim, Payson, Strawberry, Flagstaff, White Mountains (Sunrise Ski area), and many other cooler spots to ride here in the summer months. Please let us know when you are going to be out here because I will take you and the family out for a nice meal as to show my appreciation for you spending your money in our fine State. Thank you for standing behind Arizona in our fight to enforce the laws that the federal government seems to turn their heads on.

It will be later this summer so difinetly high country. Maybe we can get some peeps together and make a goup ride.
I get to retire next year and was planning on going back to Colorado but AZ is temping me,gotta love the laws.
I need to go to Show Low and pick up my elk mount, so maybe I'll head that way.

Thanks for the info
