Stud that baby Rick. Call Cometic for a gasket if you strike out with the dealers.

I would call ARP and tell them what thread pitch you need and the length and they should have something that will work, they had some random studs that worked on my 650h1 . they also had an offsite warehouse that they gave me the # to and the dude there dug them up.

How do you find out what the length of the head bolts are. This may sound stupid but they looked different lengths to me. I have sat in that fucker all taken apart except the motor and stared at the fucker for two weeks.

I would of taken it apart if i really thought i could get it back together.

How many head bolts are there? eight I think right. They look all different lengths. I will have to look at a schematic sp?

And is it really the head gasket? I don't fucking know. Jim at Prestige said he did a leak down and was questioning the head gasket being bad. But I saw the fluid pouring out on the dyno???

I really don't want you guys to tell me the answers, I am buying a shop manual and digging in to this thing soon myself. I cant keep spending this kind of money to have my mechanic guessing and not knowing wtf
i like Jim at Prestige but he didnt install the intake and exhaust and dosent have a dyno, so i am not bummed at all with him, Jim from Prestige is solid in my book! And the engine part of this build should not be Jim's problem to be honest.

thanks for letting me vent guys

All the head bolts are supposed to be the same size. Did you notice where the fluid was pouring out from? Maybe the water pump?

Prestige did the water pump recall thing and it was running ok at idle and on and off the trailer.

I took it to The Pro Shop, we ran it up and down the steet to warm it up a little. Then put it on the Dyno. On the first dyno run fluid just came pouring out of the overflow bottle for the radiator.

This is after we bleed the air one more time that was in the cooling system. Jim did tell me there might still be some air in the cooling system.

Interesting, before going into the engine go kit a little coolant tester that will test if any of the engines exhaust is getting into the coolant. Did you already check the radiator cap t make sure it was holding the right amount of pressure.

A coolant tester is a good idea, I will test it this week.

And no I dont know if I have the right radiator cap on there, I have had a few different ones by now.

What is the correct radiator cap pressure? do you know off hand?
