Just another ride in the hills

We took a break from building an addition on my buddies cabin and went for a ride. What do you do when your 15 miles from nowhere and you snap and axle? Cut down a tree and strap it under the frame and the a-arm and ride the beyotch out. I went through 3 mud holes I had to winch the other guys through.. and I was only on 3 wheels! They nicknamed my Prowler the honey badger II (his track rig is honey badger I). I am pretty damn impressed with the places I went that I had to winch the Honda and the Polaris through. In all fairness, the Polaris has every known option and a bunch of other custom stuff he built for it and its a VERY sweet ride, it is just heavy and likes to punch through the swamps and mud holes and sit on the frame. She is sweet but HEAVY! All in all it was another great 2 weeks at the cabin with lots of trips I didn't get pics of.

I don't think I will anytime soon. That polaris was sweet, power steering, complete cab, power windows, more LED lights on the outside than you can shake a stick at etc. I was looking at getting one till I had to keep winching him through the mud and swamp holes. I will just stick to my prowler and keep fixing it as I break it till I can't get parts anymore LOL. I do need to make some doors and a cab kit for it though, the winter season is coming on and the older I get the less I like being cold.

That is a nice looking Ranger but does look like he's added close to a 1,000 lbs with the cab, heavy bumpers, and all those racks.

I am not sure of the total weight on it. Its a pimped out ride for sure and its mostly used for cabin hopping and trail rides. It is pretty sweet to be able to ride in a group on VERY dusty trails and not get a drop of dust in the cab unless he opens the doors. It's sealed up very well and has filters on the intake air for the cab etc. Its HEAVY I do know that, but his wife loves it and they get out and ride A LOT so its all good!

Sounds like a nice machine! Bottom line, fun is fun regardless what you ride!
