It will be coming off the show room floor with 27" ITP mudlite tires and was wondering if i'm gonna need a clutch kit or i should be fine without it???...would be great to know before i pick it up tomorrow, if i end up needing the cluch kit ill add it in my financing. Thanks in advance !

They are pretty good stock, You almost have to drive it before you really know what you will need. If the shop has a proven clutch kit they recommend then thats different and I might do it.

not looking to beat any speed records or anything, just don't want to be under-powered, and don't want it to be hard on belt and such.....ill be riding at 800feet or so above sea level...thanks for info fellas!!! much appreciated!

I would get the clutch kit and not have it installed but have them charge you for the kit and labor. And then it is already paid for labor included. And if you don't need it trade it out for some service work like oil changes, belt etc. That's if your dealer will trade it out with you.He should atleast trade out the dollars labor wise.
The 27 inch tires might make it a little doggy out of the hole. But at 800 feet i just don't know.

Thanks Sandchris...i think ill take your advice on that, ill see what they can do....what i worry most about i guess is that it wont have the power to turn those tires in deeper mud and start to get belt slippage!

The 27 mud lites don't measure 27 . They will be about 26" I just put on interco Reptiles in 27" size and they measure exactly 26" with 10 lbs. of air. Thats the reason i went to the 27's because i wanted a true 26 inch tire.

I had a 700 last year and put 27's on it. It was great except when I was in 4wheel drive climbing super steep hills in the bush up here in northern Canada. The elevation here is about 1750 ft asl. I would nearly power out and would chirp the belt. I put my stock tires on and went up the same hill with little problem. I would strongly recommend the clutch kit. ksmith
