Picked this prowler up from my boss for cheap. Replaced the fuel lines to get it started & running. Ran it for a few days then parked it.
many ideas? I replaced the starter, starter solenoid, & battery. After the 6-8key turn it’s try’s to crank just a tad.
Pulled the starter from engine and spins just fine so the starter is hanging up inside?
i have a video of it but not sure how to post it.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Is the engine seized or perhaps its stuck in gear?

As a suggestion"
  • Remove the spark plugs (leave it out) and turn the main clutch by hand. Note: Ensure ignition key is off / removed. Can you manually turn the main crank over by hand?
  • If unable to turn, can you lift the wheels off the ground and try manually turning again. re: This test will check if stuck in gear.
  • Also.... Try above with its shifter in "P" and in "N". Gear selection safety switch might be slightly off as well.

Hope these 1st steps ideas help...

I jacked it up and the wheels spun freely so I don’t believe it’s in gear. (Also says on the dash N)
It’s honestly like something isn’t allowing the starter to spin inside so I took apart the case and everything looked in perfect condition. I took the spark plug out and manually spun the flywheel counterclockwise, (spun freely clockwise), took just about everything I had in me to get it to spin but I made a full rotation on the flywheel.. while doing that if anything I heard a very slight sliding noise coming from the cylinder but counts really tell if it was just the air compressing from the hole..
